Get answers to common questions about Face treatment IPL.
Most clients need a series of 3–6 treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. Exact number depends on skin concern, severity of pigmentation or acne, and individual response. Your specialist will create a personalized plan during consultation.
Most clients describe mild stinging or snapping sensations during the procedure. Redness and slight swelling are normal and usually subside within a few hours to a couple of days. Minimal downtime allows return to daily activities with proper post-care and sun protection.
IPL is effective at reducing redness and inflammation from acne and can improve the appearance of some superficial acne scars by stimulating collagen. Active cystic acne may require additional medical treatments; your provider will assess suitability and recommend combined therapies if needed.
Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, those with recent sunburn, very dark skin tones at higher risk of pigmentation changes, or anyone on photosensitizing medications. A thorough consultation and medical history help determine safe candidacy.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least two weeks prior, discontinue self-tanning products, and stop certain topical acids as advised. Arrive with clean skin free of makeup. Your provider will review medications and skincare to ensure safety.
Use broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, avoid direct sun and tanning beds, and skip harsh exfoliants for a week. Keep skin moisturized and follow any prescribed topical treatments. Report prolonged irritation to your provider to ensure proper healing and optimal outcomes.
